The Brown Book is an audio and photographic archive documenting the practices of Black gardeners throughout the South. It weaves together the voices, wisdom, and lived experiences of these gardeners through audio interviews, portraits, and plants. The project documents and shares how these gardens, and their keepers, are preserving culture, foodways, and the ancestral intelligence held in the land and plants that these gardeners shepherd.
